Mr. Alfonzo Williams
Alfonzo “Al” Williams was born in Tuskegee, AL to the late Willie Walker and Maxine Williams on January 24, 1961. He was raised in the Conecuh County in the Johnsonville Community before moving to Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from Murry-Wright High School in 1979. He left Detroit in 1986 to join the United States Air Force. After successfully completing training in Texas, he was stationed at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines. While in the Philippines, he met the love of his life, Elena Bioc. The couple had their first child, Allen on July 27, 1989. Before leaving the Philippines, the couple married in October 1989. A year later they welcomed their second child, Corey. In 1998 their third child, Jordon, was born. They were happily married for twenty-one years before Elena’s untimely death in 2011.
Alfonzo confessed Christ at an early age at the Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church. After returning to the area he rededicated his fellowship with Christ and the Sandy Grove Church family.
He served four years as an Environmental Support Specialist in the U. S. Air Force before his honorable discharge. When he returned to the United States he settled in Evergreen, AL. The Williams family relocated and made Brewton, AL their home. Husband and father was his full-time job for over twenty-four years. He would always say “I have the best job in the world”.
Alfonzo was preceded in death by his wife Elena Williams, father, Willie Walker, mother Maxine Williams, brother Nathaniel (Joyce) Bradley and a special aunt Mary S. Williams.
Alfonzo leaves to cherish his memories, his three sons; Allen (Alisha) Williams of Daphne, AL, Corey Williams and Jordan Williams, both of Brewton, AL; two grandsons Trent and Tristan Williams, six brothers; Willie (Paula) Williams of Detroit, MI, Henry “Hank” (Valerie) Williams, of Castleberry, AL, Harry Walker, Brewton, AL, Willie N. Walker and David Walker, both of Evergreen, AL, Lawrence (Crystal) Walker of DeRidder, LA, three sisters; Bernice Johnson of Pensacola, FL, Sherry (John) Walker of Brewton, AL, Janice (Stanley) Stallworth, of Evergreen, AL, honorary sister, Bessie (Ken) Littles, honorary brother Mannie (Virginia) Bradley, and honorary mother Margaret Culliver, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends that loved him dearly.
