Mr. Alvin Jacobs Jr.
Alvin Lavon Jacobs Jr. was born on March 3, 1951 to the late Alvin Jacobs Sr. and Kattie L. Moore in Evergreen, Alabama. He departed this life on July 25, 2012 at the Evergreen Medical Center.
He was educated in Conecuh County Public School and furthered his education at Ed Reid Technical College. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Old Field AME Zion Church, where he served as a faithful member until the Lord called him Home. He held several titles, in the church, which included Preacher Steward, choir member and he served on the Steward Board. He was also one of the original members of the Sensational Tones of Joy for many years.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to his high school sweetheart, Annie Pearl Travis. To this union they were blessed with three children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Kattie Jacobs; one sister, Doris J. Jacobs and a brother, Earnest McCall. He leaves to cherish his precious memories, a devoted wife, Annie P. Jacobs of Evergreen, Alabama; two daughters, Beverly (Clyde) Moore and Kimberly Jacobs, both of Atlanta, Georgia; one son, Anthony (Alicia) Jacobs of Evergreen, Alabama; one sister, Voncile J. Snell of Atlanta, Georgia; three brothers, Eddie J. Jacobs of Atlanta, Georgia, George C. Jacobs of Los Angeles, California and Leon (Wanda) McCall of Rex, Georgia; six grandchildren, Alexus Jacobs, Jalen Jacobs, Brandon Moore, Dylan Moore, Michael Booker and Alexia Booker; a devoted father figure, George McCall; two uncles, Eddie (Jewel) Moore Sr. and Pastor Green (Pauline) Moore; three aunts, Evelyn Jackson, Alma Mose and Lula McCall; five sisters-in-law, Rosetta (John) McCreary, Lula Travis, Mattie Travis, Annie (Alfonza) Jackson and Mary L. Travis; two brothers-in-law, Jimmie (Mary) Travis and Billy (Tracy) Jackson; a devoted cousin and friend, George Fields and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
