Mr. Charles Lindsey
Charles O’Neal Lindsey was born November 2, 1962 in Conecuh County, Evergreen, Alabama to Lena Mae Roache Lindsey and James Elvin Lindsey, Sr. He was surrounded by his family as he departed for his Heavenly Home on Tuesday night, October 29, 2013. Preceding him in death were his parents, and sister, Gloria Jean Lindsey Ausby.
At an early age, charles accepted Christ as his Savior, and joined the Sparta Hill United Methodist Church, where he remained faithful and active until his passing.
He attended school in Conecuh County and graduated from Evergreen High School.
Charles worked at the Quick Freeze in Evergreen, Alabama, and Firestone in Montgomery, Alabama, but Charles spent the majority of his life working as a skilled and competent Mechanic, repairing any type engine that needed repairing.
He had a great love for horses and enjoyed horseback riding before his illness.
Charles leaves to cherish his memories: daughter, Shakina Jones of Mobile, AL; son, Javon O’Neal (Cecilia Ybarra) Wallace of Pensacola, Florida, and daughter, Tyra Charnese Lindsey of Evergreen, AL; grandson, Julian Avion Wallace of Pensacola, FL; sisters and brothers: Barbara Smith of Evergreen, AL, Arbalia (Ivery) Williams of Los Angeles, CA, John Henry (Joy) Lindsey of Eustis, FL, Joycia (Ronyon) Campbell of Evergreen, AL, James Elvin (Manuela) Lindsey, Jr. of Killeen, TX, Lena (Destry) Williams of Montgomery, AL; aunts: Lularee Gross of Evergreen, AL and Lucy Norris of Pensacola, FL; uncle-in-law, S. J. Ewing of Evergreen, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.
