Mr. Clifton Crook
Clifton Crook was born on February 7, 1926, in Burnt Corn, Alabama to the late James and Cora Crook. In the late evening hours of Saturday, November 18, 2017, Cliff’s time with us came to an end. The Lord called this faithful servant home after a long illness.
At an early age, Cliff joined Bethany Missionary Baptist Church where he remained a faithful member until his death.
In 1956, he and Louise were united in Holy Matrimony. To this union he was blessed with two daughters; Jennifer and Glynn.
For many years Cliff worked at Peterman Lumber Company. Later, he was employed by and retired from the Conecuh County Highway Department.
Cliff enjoyed talking about the good old days and farming on his dad’s land in Burnt Corn, Alabama. He especially enjoyed raising cows and spending time with his family and friends. Cliff spent much of his leisure time “just chilling” with the guys at David Rankins’ and Sam McCreary’s grocery stores.
Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, James and Cora Crook; his brothers, Leroy, David, Grover, Lamar and Willie and his sisters, Consia, Clementine (twin sister) and Legatha.
Cherishing Cliff’s special memories and legacy is his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Louise Crook of Evergreen, AL; daughters, Jennifer (Ray) Bennett of Baltimore, MD and Glynn (George) Collier of Harvest, AL and two grandsons, Derrick (Jessica) Collier of Phoenix, AR and Brandon Collier of Huntsville, AL. He is also survived by his sister, Minnie Lett of Jersey City, NJ; three sisters-in-law, Shirley Harris, Judy Harker and Edna (Cebron) Harris and numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
