Mr. Clinner Lee Nettles
Clinner “Clint” Lee Nettles was born July 16, 1954 to the late Willie and Emma Nettles. He attended the public school system in Conecuh County where he graduated from Evergreen High School with the Class of 1972. He then went to Reid State where he studied Auto Mechanic. He later attended Athens University and Alabama State University where he received his degree in Education.
After receiving his degree he became an employee of the Conecuh County Vocational School. He taught there for several years and later retired. After retirement, he went on to manage businesses such as Advance Auto Parts, Auto Zone and NAPA. He served as a fireman with the Johnsonville Volunteer Fire Department for numerous years. He returned to Reid Tech and received his CDL License and worked as a truck driver until he became ill.
Clint gave his life to Christ early and became a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church. He had a love for music, which lead him to become the musician at several churches. He remained a member of Union Baptist until death. Clint had a passion for football, cars, cards and people. He was a friendly face to see that many people knew regardless of his location.
He married Hazel Bradley Nettles and to this union three children were born. Clint departed this life on May 23, 2017. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert, James H. and Lloyd Nettles and his sisters, Mary N. Brown and Alice Williams.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted children, Tatanisha Nettles, Torin Nettles and Trittany Nettles; three grandchildren, Taniyah Nettles, Tailyn Dees and Teaghan Nettles; three devoted sisters, Alice Nettles, Emma Rankins and Nellie (Clifton) Moore; a special sister, Sandra (Carl) Smith; five brothers, Felix (Myrtle) Nettles, Lonnie (Nellie) Nettles, John (Jackie) Nettles, Willie (Vannie) Nettles and Richard (Annie) Nettles and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
We are forever grateful to God to have known Clint. We consider it a privilege and a blessing to have had him as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. His love and memory will remain in our hearts and spirit forever. To those of you who reached out to us in love, prayer, and any other generous act we extend our profound appreciation. We ask that you continue to keep us in your prayers. Special thanks to the staff of the Cancer Treatment Center of America (Newnan, GA), Dr. Steve West and staff of Evergreen Medical Center and Hospice Care. We truly are thankful for all you have done.
