Mr. Eddie James Scott
Eddie James Scott was born on May 16, 1955 in Conecuh County, Evergreen, Alabama. Eddie was the youngest son of thirteen children, born into the union of the late J. B. Scott, Sr. and Ura Mae Scott. He was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on March 8, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Ray, Leonard, Robert, Henry, and Allen; sister, Daisy P. Stokes; and eldest grandson, Christopher Lett.
He was educated in the Public School System of Conecuh County. Eddie obtained a degree as a Heavy Duty Mechanic Operator, among other trades and skills, that he utilized while living in New Jersey. When his health failed, he returned to Alabama, and remained until his death.
Eddie leaves to cherish his loving memories, a devoted partner, Mary Rhodes; two devoted daughters: Tamiko Lett and Kenyilei (Tony) Lett, both of Mobile, Alabama; their mother, Mildred Lett; seventeen grandchildren: Corionte, Chrisanthea, Willie, Jazmine, Ghacquez, Lundasia, Cameron, Tamija, Anthony, Kaleab, Paris, Asia, Germany, London, Thailand, Jaiden, and Jordan; great-granddaughter, Kalliyah; stepchildren: Jamon Lett, Tanya Rhodes, Eddie Rhodes, Jr., and Sandra Willis; step-grandchildren: Jariell Lett, Malik, and Brandon Rhodes; five devoted sisters: Lizzie (Earlie) Jones, Annie (Hosea) Wilson, both of Oxnard, CA, Angie Butler of Evergreen, AL, Faye (Sid) Hone of Mobile, AL, Bobbie (Jacob) Simmons of Jersey City, NJ; one devoted brother, J. B. (Gussie) Scott, Jr., of Evergreen, AL; step-sisters: Yolanda Bailey and Bertha Savage, both of Evergreen, AL; devoted friends: Sharonia Matthews (partner), John Nettles, Sr., and Eddie James Richardson, of Evergreen, AL; a host of cousins, family, and friends - all devoted, and forever cherishing the memories of laughter, silliness, and him being ’straight up” as he would always say and maintain.
