Mr. Eddie L. Rodgers
Mr. Eddie Lee Rodgers was the second child born to the late Mr. Aubrey and the late Gladys Lee Rodgers on March 21, 1943. He departed this life on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery, Alabama. Along with his parents he was also preceded in death by a niece, Janice Powell.
At an early age he accepted Christ and joined the Westside Missionary Baptist Church where he remained a member until his death.
He was affectionately called “Uncle Tut” or “Jack” by family, friends, church members and co-workers.
He received his education in the Conecuh County Training School. He was employed by the Conecuh Quick Freeze (now Conecuh Sausage) for 24 years. He retired from the City of Evergreen where he was employed for 22 years.
He leaves to cherish his memories two sons, Eric (Crystal) Rodgers of Montgomery, AL and Jason Kyles of Evergreen, AL; a loving granddaughter, Erin Rodgers of Montgomery, AL; a caring brother, Jesse (Annie Pearl) Rodgers of Evergreen, AL; a devoted sister, Judie Lee Powell, of Evergreen, AL; six nieces, Annette (Kevin) Govan of Boston, MA, Alice (Michael) Flen of Riverdale, GA, A. Chesson Rodgers- (Trent) McDaniel of Evergreen, AL, Joanna Powell- (Garland) Smith, and Jocelyn Powell, both of Atlanta, GA; four nephews, Jesse Rodgers Jr., Johnathan Rodgers, both of Evergreen, AL, Joseph Powell III and Julius Powell, both of Atlanta, GA; caring cousins, Choojit (Sue) Rogers of Pemberton, NJ, Susan Rogers-White of Baltimore, MD, Nathaniel Grace of San Antonio, TX, Horace Dubose of Birmingham, AL, Willie Bright Jr. of Century, FL, Mary Sarah Rodgers, Betty Grace and John Rodgers, all of Washington, D.C. and the Rodgers families in Foley, AL; one sister-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
