Mr. Elvis U. Meeks, Sr.
Elvis Uranus Meeks Sr. was born September 18, 1956 in Escambia County. He was the sixth child born to the late Finch Meeks Jr. and Mable Taliaferro Meeks. He was called home on November 6, 2015 in Meridian, Mississippi Hospital. Elvis was preceded in death by his parents, three siblings and one grandchild.
At an early age he attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He joined the U.S. Army in 1974 and was a PV2 when he was honorable discharged with disability in 1976.
Elvis was united in Holy Matrimony to Felicia Brantley. To that union, they were blessed with five children. He loved to help others and enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Elvis leaves to cherish his memories three daughters, Kimberly (Mark) Mack of Texas, Teneka Brantley of Pensacola, FL and Natasha (Fredrick) Rudolph of Meridian, MS; two sons, Elvis (Amaris) Brantley Meeks Jr. of Pensacola, FL and Ulonzia Meeks of Meridian, MS; one sister, Gertrude (Buford) Butler of Liberty, MO; three brothers, Wade Meeks of Los Angeles, CA, Otis Meeks and Nubie Meeks, both of Evergreen, AL; 15 grandchildren; a devoted niece Cherone Meeks of Evergreen, AL and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends whom he loved dearly and they loved him in return.
