Mr. Harel King
Harel King was born December 12, 1949 to the late Robert and Beatrice King. He joined Pilgrim Rest A.M.E. Zion Church under Reverend Seller. Later he moved to Clewiston, Florida, and joined First Baptist Church where Reverend Tucker was his Pastor. After moving back to Alabama in November of 1998 Harel joined 2nd Mt. Zion Baptist Church under Reverend Luzell Stallworth and was a faithful member until his health failed. He diligently performed many services at the church: He was vice-Chairman of the Trustee Board, member of the Male Choir, yardman, church bus driver and a very humble servant of God.
He received his formal education at Mixonville Community School. After his schooling Harel worked for Steven Robinson in Evergreen, Alabama for several years. Later on in life Harel started Paper Wooding until he left and went to Clewiston, Florida and began working at U.S. Sugar. After moving back to Mixonville, Alabama he began working for Conecuh County Engineering Department and remained there for 19 ½ years.
Harel dated his “soul mate” for four years in high school and later married the late Mrs. Sadie Robbins (King) on June 21, 1969. In this union God blessed Harel and Sadie with two beautiful daughters, Talson King-Ward and Kimberly King. In 1991 they adopted six other children and helped to raise many others.
In his spare time he loved to go hunting and fishing. He loved to go to the race track and he absolutely loved his Ford trucks.
