Mr. Henry L. Perkins, Jr.
Henry Leon Perkins Jr. (Hank) went from home to Glory on November 15, 2017 at 2:24 a.m. at Baptist Hospital, Pensacola, Florida.
Henry was born on August 10, 1972 to Henry Leon Sr. and Frankie Perkins in Detroit, Michigan.
He was educated in the Detroit Public Schools. He is preceded in death by grandparents Santee and Eula B. Floyd; grandfather, Will Jr. and Mary O. Perkins; aunt, Carol George, and uncle, Rev. John Floyd.
Henry joined Greater Community Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Seay in Detroit, Michigan. He was a member of the Youth Choir, helped with handicap members, putting them on and off the church bus, Kitchen Helper, and all other church activities.
Henry relocated to Alabama, joined Second Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church and joined the Second Mt. Zion Male Chorus, and Missionary Society. He was a faithful member until death.
Henry loved football, basketball, hunting, (keeping the family supplied with squirrels), fishing, bowling, skating, movies, and traveling with family on Family Reunions.
Henry traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, Orlando, Florida, Birmingham, Alabama, Gatlinburg, Tennessee, New Orleans, and just this year, he attended a Family Reunion in Lancaster, Pennsylvania with family.
Henry spent a lot of time horse riding with his favorite uncle, Deacon Richard Perkins.
He leaves to cherish his memories, two daughters: ShaRay Dubruiel of Windsor–Ontario, Canada and Mya Perkins of Detroit, Michigan; his father, Deacon Henry Perkins Sr. (Thelma) of Detroit, Michigan; his mother, Frankie Brown (Ronnie) of Evergreen, Alabama; four sisters: Enola, Toni, Jessica, Tasha; four brothers: Christopher, Willie, Anderson, and Kevin; two nephews: John and Quasar; three nieces: Miracle, Ariel, and London, all of Detroit, Michigan; aunts: Maxcine Guice (David) of Memphis, Tennessee, Lola Hardaway of Enterprise, Mississippi, Ruby Floyd of Monroeville, Alabama; uncles: Sandy Floyd (Josie) of Evergreen, Alabama, Deacon Willie James Perkins (Henri) of Detroit, Michigan, Moses Perkins (Martha); Deacon Richard Perkins (Kimberly), Donald Perkins, all of Evergreen, Alabama; best friend and cousin, Marcus Floyd of Evergreen, Alabama; best friend, Lajuan Walker of Detroit, Michigan; godfather and godmother, Mr. & Mrs. Albert and Eva Boykins-McGee of Evergreen, Alabama; baby-sitters: Mr. & Mrs. Charles and Clara Keys, Mr. & Mrs. Walker, and the late Mrs. Mattie Hence, of Detroit, Michigan; and a host of cousins and friends.
Henry enjoyed all his family members in Detroit, Michigan and Evergreen, Alabama. His daughters were his every thought.
Henry’s special dog (name “Sally”), and neighbor’s cat, (name “mama”).
