Mr. James A. Steen
James Anderson (Pap) Steen was born October 8, 1949 to Willie James Steen and Naomi Preyer Steen. He was the first born of five children born to that union. He departed this life on February 8, 2020. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and two sisters: Wyvette Steen Brown and Ozetha (Wylinzey) Grace.
He was educated through the Conecuh County School System.
He gave his life to Christ at an early age and joined Jerusalem No. II. Later, he moved his member to Unity In Christ Outreach Ministries, Inc., where he joined the Cathedral of Praise Choir. He remained a choir member until his health failed.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Joyce Ann Bradley.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife of forty-seven years, Joyce Ann Steen; one daughter, Carolyn Mitchell of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; two sisters: Regina Rudolph of Evergreen, Alabama and Carmen Grant of Opp, Alabama; one brother, Donald Ray Steen of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; mother-in-law, Mrs. Minnie Bradley of Evergreen, Alabama; one sister-in-law, Wynonia Bradley of Brooklyn, New York; four brothers-in-law: Mark Bradley, Gary Bradley, Wylinzey Grace, all of Evergreen, Alabama, and Marvin Bradley of Brooklyn, New York; nieces: Chandra Lark, Deidra Thomas, Regina Tate, LaTanya Steen, Justice Dixon, Joyce Bradley, Tresha Bradley and Destiny McCrary; nephews: Charles Steen, Loukieston Grace, Timothy Grace, Kendrik Ball, La’Trell Bradley, and Nyles Bradley; and a host of other great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
