Mr. Jimmie McQueen
Jimmie McQueen was born on February 8, 1953, the second child of seven children born to Wilbert and Theodocia McQueen in Conecuh County, Alabama. His favorite pastime was communing with nature – gardening, being in the outdoors, visiting friends and senior citizens in the community, mentoring his cousins regarding a college education, and playing with the animals on their farm.
Jimmie began his educational pursuit in the Conecuh County School District. He attended Conecuh County High School where he enjoyed playing in the school band and participating in numerous clubs (Athletic Club, Glee Club, Shapshot Club, . . .), He graduated from Conecuh County High School in 1971. His ultimate educational accomplishments were achieved when he received a Bachelor of Science degree from Alabama State University in 1974 in Business and Economics, and a Master of Business Administration from National University in San Diego, California in 1980.
Jimmie utilized the skills he acquired to pursue numerous business ventures. He began his career working as an assistant manager for the following companies: The County of San Diego, Greyhound Bus Line, Teledyne Ryan Company, Abbey Party Rents, and Smart Party Rents. After these numerous work experiences, he decided to become an entrepreneur. He as the owner and operator of JM Party Productions, Corvel Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling, Classic Limousine, and James At Your Service.
Jimmie found Christ at a very young age. He has loved the Lord since his introduction to Christianity. He often enjoyed praying to the Lord and listening to traditional gospel music. One of his favorite Christian shows to watch on television was The Joel Osteen Show.
Early in the evening of July 9, 2016, Jimmie quietly and peacefully departed from this world to his final resting place. He was preceded in death by his brother, Wilbert McQueen, Jr.; and sister Cynthia McQueen-Dean. Jimmie leaves to cherish his memories and celebrate his life his wife of 39 years, Mary McQueen of San Diego, CA; son Jeremy McQueen of New York, NY; his dad and mom Wilbert and Theodocia McQueen of Castleberry, AL; siblings Eddie McQueen (Melva) of Houston, TX; Roderick McQueen (Cathleen) of Castleberry, AL; Susan Matthews of Atlanta, GA; and Dale McQueen of Castleberry, AL, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
