Mr. Johnnie F. Lett
Johnnie Frank Lett was born April 4, 1943 to the late Erma and John Red Lett. He accepted Christ at an early age at Antioch Baptist Church No. 1 in Tunnel Springs, Alabama. On October 27, 2015 God called him home from Labor to Reward. He was preceded in death by his parents, Erma and John Red Lett and siblings, Mattie Lyons and Walter Lett.
Johnnie Frank was educated in the Monroe County School System. He retired from Chevrolet Gear and Axle (a division of General Motors) in Detroit, Michigan.
Johnnie Frank Lett was united in Holy Matrimony to Ruth Lourine Harris on April 27, 1965, where they remained married for 50 years and 6 months. To this union five children were born.
In 1984 Johnnie Frank moved back home from Detroit and began coaching the Tunnel Springs softball team (boys and girls). He also coached the Monroe County Killers. He was an excellent fisherman and gardener.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Ruth Lett; two sons and three daughters, Johnny Frank Lett Jr. (Linda) of Monroeville, AL, Christopher Lett of Tunnel Springs, AL, Adrienne (Murdock) Wiggins and Lavita Lett of Tunnel Springs, AL and Erma (Demond) Franklin of Montgomery, AL; one sister, Dora (Robert) Coker of West Bloomfield, MI; five grandsons, Johnny Lett III, William Wiggins Jr., Damian Lett, Antwaine Smith and Christopher J. Lett; six granddaughters, Shuntel Lett, Leslie Wiggins, Erin Rogers, Kelsie Brogan, Diamond Broom and Demi Franklin; six step-grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two god-sons, Jerry Lee and Patrick Peaden; special friend and caregiver, Mary Hawthorne; devoted friends, David Burns and John McCottrell; five brothers-in-law, Wayne Harris, Larry Harris, Robert Coker, James Autrey and Roosevelt Lyons; four sisters-in-law, Juanita Autrey, Sherry Atkins, Mary Harris and Evelyn Lett; a devoted cousin, Kenny Berry and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
