Mr. Marvin D. Stallworth
Marvin Dwayne Stallworth was born July 29, 1964, in Brewton, AL. Marvin was recognized for his “larger than life” personality and his willingness to help others. He graduated from Southern Normal High School in 1982 and shortly afterward entered the military. He served 21 years of honorable service in the United States Army and retired in his hometown. He was joined in Holy Matrimony to Antonia (Lynn) Rogers Stallworth in 2003.
Marvin accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at First Saint Siloam Baptist Church in Brewton, AL, where he was ordained as a Deacon. He eventually joined his wife in membership at Greater Mount Calvary Baptist Church and worked faithfully until he transitioned from this Earth on Wednesday, August 22, 2018. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, the late Jessie and Mattie Thomas, a brother, Jonathan Stallworth, and two sisters, Debra Campbell and Mary Ann Robins.
Marvin enjoyed meeting new people, was an avid motorcyclist, and most importantly, sought opportunities to improve the community. He continued his public service after retiring by serving as a Police Officer in the city of East Brewton for several years. He later began a 12-year career with the United States Postal Service as a mail clerk. He was a Masonic member, a member of the Brewton Sportsman Club, and a devoted member of Prophecy Motorcycle Club (Brewton, AL).
Marvin was devoted to his large family. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 15 years: Antonia (Lynn) Rogers Stallworth; one daughter: Veronica (Daniel) Flounoy of Ft. Mitchell, AL; four sons: Kyriss Brown of Pensacola, FL, Rashaad Stallworth of Clarksville, TN, Derrick Stallworth of Clarksville, TN, and Jarred Rogers of Brewton, AL; five sisters: Minnie Stallworth of Chicago, IL, Erma (Clinton) Bryan of Jacksonville, FL, Jacqueline (Jerry) Rudolph of Brewton, AL, Tonya (Dempsey) Daniels of Jacksonville, FL, and Ann Campbell of Brewton, AL; and seven brothers: Jessie (Sheila) Wilmer of Cincinnati, OH, Michael (Phyllis) Stallworth of Montgomery, AL, Tony Wilmer of Montgomery, AL, Leander Wilmer of Montgomery, AL, Robert (Denise) Campbell of Brewton, AL; a sister-in-law, Tanya Rogers of Brewton, AL, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the LORD, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day – and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing - II Timothy 4:8
