Mr. Matthew Stallworth, Jr.

Matthew Stallworth Jr. was born April 16, 1936 in Evergreen, Alabama. He was the first son born to Matthew Stallworth Sr. and Soloney Stallworth. His life ended on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama.
He was a graduate of Conecuh County Training School. After graduating he joined the U.S. Army and fought in the Vietnam War. He later attended Jefferson Davis College in Brewton, Alabama.
Matthew accepted Christ at an early age and remained a member of Mount Zion Church for numerous years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Dr. Darlene Stallworth; a son, Juan Poindexter; a brother, John D. Stallworth, as well as four sisters, Dorothy Mae Stallworth, Bennie Lee Tayborn, Daisy Lone Rankins, and Alberta Stallworth.
He leaves to morn six daughters, Cynthia (Garry) Shakespear of Enterprise, AL, Carrie Likely of Fayetteville, NC, Sherrie Holmes of Enterprise, AL, Ramona (Suzy) Stallworth of Andalusia, AL, Avisa Stallworth of Evergreen, AL, and Katrina “Trina” Stallworth of Raleigh, NC; three sons, Matthew Stallworth III of Andalusia, AL, Jeff Stallworth of Fayetteville, NC, and Antwan Parrish of Evergreen, AL; two sisters, Carrie Cook of Columbia, SC and Emma Brantley of Pensacola, FL; a special friend, Shannon Rankins and her daughter, Janavia Rankins who was like a daughter to him and numerous grandchildren, great grands, great-great grands, nieces, nephews and cousins.
April Daddy was known by many. He was full of wisdom and shared it often whether you wanted to hear it or not. He was fondly known as Mr. Matt and Brother. Always a sharp dresser and always spoke his mind. A legend.
