Mr. Michael L. Grace
Micheal Lloyd Grace was the fourth child born to Earlie and Jeanette Pruyear Grace on January 19, 1953 in Conecuh County Alabama. He departed this life on September 19, 2015.
At an early age, Michael, aka “Tang”, joined Greenstreet A.M.E. Zion Church, where he faithfully served as an usher until his death. Michael attended Marshall High School and graduated from Lyeffion High School in 1971. “Tang” relocated to Jackson County Mississippi in 1974. While in Mississippi, Michael joined the Church of the Living God (C.W.F.F) Temple #297 in Moss Point, where he served as a member of the Usher Board, Sunday School Superintendent and teacher, and Chairman of the Trustee Board.
For many years, Michael was employed as a pipe welder at Northrup Grumman/Ingalls Shipbuilders in Pascagoula, Mississippi. In recent years, Michael has been self-employed as a contractor and owner/operator of M & L Construction.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earlie and Jeanette Grace; his paternal grandparents, Ransom and Carrie Grace; his maternal grandparents, Nathaniel and Lillie Bell Pruyear, and a devoted sister-in-law, Lela Johnson.
Michael is survived by his loving and devoted wife of thirty-seven years, Mary Lucile Grace; seven children: Sherita Bovastro of Gautier, MS, LaQuisha Grace of Birmingham, AL, LeKeith and LaKeitha Grace, both of Moss Point, MS, Angela (Robert) Strong of Dallas, TX, Cillora Hicks of Hattiesburg, MS, and LaVonia Grace of San Marcos, TX; six grandchildren: Keimyah Bovastro, Mariah Grace, Lathan Grace, Caleb Booker, Robert Strong, Jr. and Ryan Strong; three brothers: George (Edna) Grace of Peterman, AL, Earl (Mazie) Grace of Moss Point, MS, Tyree Grace of Evergreen, AL; two sisters: Carrie Grace and Karen (Barry) Moore, both of Jacksonville, FL; five brothers-in-law: Lonnie (Nevada) Moore of McIntosh, AL, Lonnie (Mary) Hall of Louisville, KY, Elijah (Audrey) Moore of Anniston, AL, Ronnie (Sarah) Moore of Sunflower, AL, and John Moore of Birmingham, AL; three sisters-in-law: Caroline (Joseph) Smith, Flora James, both of Moss Point, MS and Magdeline (Eddie) Dortch of Prichard, AL; an extended daughter and granddaughter, Jackquline and Courtney May; seven god-children: Kenya, Brandy, Jermichael, Samuel, Thaddeus, Precious, and Ayannah; a devoted and loving cousin/friend, Wayne Harris, a devoted nephew/friend, Lewis Moore, and other devoted friends, Walter “Bump” Thompson and Billy Pittman; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends.
