Mr. Michael L. Sutton
Mr. Michael Louis Sutton was born January 3, 1953. He was raised by his loving mother, Margaret Sutton, and father, Samuel Sutton in Brewton, Alabama. Michael received his formal education at Southern Normal Junior High School. Later he graduated from T.R. Miller High School where he enjoyed many of the extracurricular activities that were offered. However, his favorite sport was football. It was in 1969 that he was on the championship winning football team. T.R. Miller defeated Aliceville in a score of 14 – 0 to receive the title of State Champions. Michael continued his studies at Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, Alabama. It was there he met the love of his life, Leatrice Myers Sutton. After marrying Leatrice, the two would go on to have their only child, Belicia Cai Sutton. The two spent 15 years together until her untimely death. Michael found love again and married Mary Hunter Sutton. The two would remain together until her untimely death.
During the course of his life, Michael was employed at EXXONMobil, owned his own fencing company, and later in life was employed at the Escambia Career Readiness Center with the Escambia County Board of Education as the custodian.
Michael had several activities that he enjoyed such as rooting for his favorite teams, the Auburn Tigers and Alabama A&M Bulldogs. He mostly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Michael was born January 3, 1953 and departed this life April 8, 2019. He was preceded in death by his wives, Leatrice Sutton and Mary Sutton and a brother, Reginald Brown. He leaves to cherish memories, a devoted daughter, Belicia Sutton; two step-daughters, Demika Hunter and Helen Hunter; his loving mother, Margaret Sutton; father, Samuel Sutton; brothers, William Sutton, Morris Brown, Bruce (Alice) Brown; sisters, Tonya (Abraham) Johnson, Jennifer (Myron) Hewett, Donna Ellis, Patricia (Conrad) Anita Saffore; a special cousin, Maggie Hartley, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
