Mr. Thomas Earl Stallworth
Thomas Earl Stallworth was born in Castleberry, Alabama on November 26, 1946 to the late Jewel Lee Springfield and Lee Stallworth. He was an only child and spent much of his childhood being raised around many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by a very special aunt, Mrs. Mary Askew.
Mr. Stallworth was educated at Booker T. Washington in Brewton, Alabama. Upon graduating, he began a career with the United States Army. He served in Vietnam for three years and as a result of injury while serving our country, he was honorably discharged from the line of duty. He was well known in the Brewton community for his landscaping talents and in addition, he spent many years managing local businesses.
Thomas was a faithful member of Baptist Hill Missionary Baptist Church. One of his greatest passions was singing. For years, he sang with the Male Chorus and also the Baptist Hill Missionary Mass Choir in which he served as President for an appointed time.
Thomas departed this life on October 27, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Mrs. Mattie Joyce Stallworth; one son, Thomas Stallworth Jr. of Cincinnati, OH; two daughters, Tyra (Corey) Harris of Cincinnati, OH and Cortney Edwards of Brewton, AL; two grandsons, Tovarre Green Jr. and Trey Stallworth, and one granddaughter, Tasia Hunter. He also leaves to cherish his memory an aunt, Hilda Byse, a special cousin, Albert Campbell; a dear friend, Mr. Allen Dunaway, and a host of other relatives and friends.
