Mr. Tommy L. Dukes, Jr.
Mr. Tommy L. “Buddy Boy” Dukes Jr. was born July 17, 1945 to the late Tommy L. and Mazarene Lee Dukes Sr. He departed this life, Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at West Florida Hospital, Pensacola, FL. Two brothers, one sister and one child preceded him in death.
He joined New Hope AME Zion Church at an early age and remained a member until death. He attended the public schools of Conecuh County.
On June 24, 1967 he united in marriage to Lucille Harris and to this union five children were born.
Buddy Boy was a great hunter, fisherman and a lover of music. Above all, he was a great provider for his family.
Buddy Boy leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife, Lucille H. Dukes; three daughters, Patricia (Roosevelt) Biggs, Sophia Dukes, both of Burnt Corn, AL and Bridgett Lett of Buffalo, NY; two sons, Tommy Dukes III of Burnt Corn, AL and Christopher (Cora) Dukes of Dallas, GA; five sisters, Mary Ola (Perry) Simon, Christine Bollings, Michelle Dukes, all of New York, Essie Sanders of Evergreen, AL and Lucille Franklin of Burnt Corn, AL; six brothers, Charlie Dukes of Brewton, AL, Roosevelt Dukes, Robert Dukes, both of Burnt Corn, AL, Frazier (Karen) Dukes of Acworth, GA, Eddie Dukes and Freddie Dukes, both of Evergreen, AL; five grandchildren, Rod, Ashley, Justin, Chrishauna and Miles; three great grands, Samaya, Jordan and Carter; one uncle, Devert Lee of Moss Point, MS; one aunt, Annie Ruth Grace of Bay Minette, AL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends (one devoted, David Rankins).
