Mr. Will Steverson
Will Steverson was born April 1, 1925. He was the first of four sons born to his parents, Will and Mary Ellen Steverson of Beatrice, Alabama. The family moved to Brooklyn, Alabama when Will was nine months old. They resided there until December 28, 1928, at which time they relocated to Brewton, Alabama.
Will graduated from Southern Normal High School. He later attended Alabama A&M College. In 1943, at the age of 18, Will was drafted in the U.S. Army. He served abroad until 1946. Following his military service, he found employment with Chrysler Automotive in Detroit, Michigan, where he worked until his retirement in 1980. In 1984, Will returned to his home in Brewton where he lived until he departed this life.
Will was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Mary Ellen Steverson; two brothers, Robert and Ruben Steverson, and one nephew, Michael Steverson of Arlington, Virginia.
He leaves to cherish his memory one brother, Devon (Jerelene) Steverson; one niece, Valerie (James) Long; four nephews, Darryl and Carlos Stevenson, all of Brewton, Alabama and Delano and Phineas Stevenson of Arlington, Virginia; cousins, Saundra Adams of New Orleans, Louisiana and Brenda DeVoroux of Washington, DC.
