Mr. Willard Hawthorne
Willard “Buck” Hawthorne was born November 15, 1951 to the late Mr. George and Eula Mae Hawthorne in Conecuh County. He departed this life July 26, 2013 at his home. He was preceded in death by a brother Mac Arthur and a sister Eliza Bradley.
He attended the public schools of Conecuh County and graduated from Conecuh County Training School in 1969.
At an early age he joined Pleasant Grove AME Zion Church under the leadership of Rev. J.S. Sellers and remained a member until death.
He was employed by Knud Neilsen Company for several years. Later in life he established his own business “Affordable Lawn Care”. He was well known for his love of music. He loved to sing and was one of the original Tones of Joy. He served as musician for several churches and groups in Conecuh and Butler counties.
He leaves to cherish his memories a companion Allena. Two sisters Mary Parker and Joyce (Rev. Whalen) Oliver, sister-in-law Shirley Hawthorne, all of Evergreen, AL. Two Godchildren whom he loved dearly, Sophronia and Jonet. Extended family, Michelle, Maria, Michael, Elena, Chris and Giavanni. Several nieces and nephews whom he loved as his own, two devoted nieces Erica and Marsha, and a host of other beloved relatives and dear friends.













































The family of Willard Hawthorne, sincerely thank everyone for their comforting expressions, words of sympathy rendered through prayers, telephone calls, flowers and other acts of kindness. Words will never express our sincere gratitude during our loss. Please continue to keep us in your prayers as our hearts heal.
