Mrs. Bertha L. Hardy
A time to live: Bertha was born to Charlie and Ester Ruth Bert Thomas, in Brewton, Alabama on September 25, 1939.
She attended Oak Grove Jr. High School and furthered her education at Southern Normal High School where she graduated.
Bertha later married Robert Stewart Hardy. To this union were three children, Harold Leon Hardy, Robert Rodney Hardy, and Tracie Giovanna Hardy. Tracie preceded her in death.
Bertha worked as a supervisor at Judy Bond (shirt factory). There she retired.
Bertha was a devoted member of Baptist Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she served in the Inspirational Choir and Mass Choir. She was also a faithful member of Missionary Circle # 6.
Bertha is survived by and will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 60 years, Robert Stewart; her sons Harold Leon (Alice) Hardy and Robert Rodney Hardy; five grandchildren, Natasha (Rahsul) Freeman, Harold Leon II, Ke’Ana (Brandon) Bradley, Tameka Madison, and Onnar (Andy) Roberson; nine great grandchildren; one sister, Helen Beamon of Mobile, AL and one brother, Charlie (Betty) Thomas of Brewton, AL, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Bertha was also preceded in death by parents, Charlie and Ester Ruth Thomas Lewis and a brother, William (Davene) Thomas.
Thanks to all medical personnel at D.W. McMillan Hospital and Baptist Hospital. Sincere thanks for all acts of kindness during our sorrow.
