Mrs. Gwendolyn M. Pressley
Gwendolyn Marie Pressley was born to the late William and Ruth Kyles on April 7, 1953 in Evergreen, Alabama. Gwendolyn confessed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with Mount Zion A.M.E. Zion Church at an early age.
Gwen attended Conecuh County Training School where she would have graduated in the Class of 1971. In 1979 she received her GED certificate.
In 1993 Gwen married Henry Lee Pressley and had three daughters.
She was a loving and devoted person to everyone especially her church. She was very knowledgeable of the Holy Scriptures and shared her knowledge during Bible study and Sunday school. She served in many areas of the local church including, Choir President, Lay Council President, member of the kitchen committee, Kitchen Chairperson, Usher President, Assistant Sunday School Superintendent, and Sunday school secretary just to name a few. She also served at a district level for several years as the Director of VBS for the Department of Education. Furthermore, she served at the Conference Level as the Conference Worker to the South Alabama Conference.
She was preceded in death by her husband; mother and father; five brothers, Alvin, Benjamin, John “Pete”, Reuben and William “Bill” Kyles and one sister, Bessie Stallworth.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Terrence (Sharmaine) and Jason Kyles; her daughters, Jessica (Justin) Bennett, Gwen and Olivia Pressley; eight grandchildren, Makayla, Mackenzie, Malachi, Xyah, Travis, Kyle Jaxon, Essence, and Miranda. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members to carry on her legacy.













































The family expresses sincere appreciation for the love and sympathy shown to them in their time of bereavement. Their prayer is that God will continue to keep and bless each of you.
