Mrs. Mamie R. Floyd
Mrs. Mamie Ruth Grice Floyd was born July 12, 1932 in Brewton, Alabama. She was the daughter of Jim and Lillian Jackson Grice. She passed away July 1, 2022 in Columbus, Georgia.
Along with her parents Mamie was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Floyd Sr.; son, Manford V. Floyd; sister and brother-in-law, Louvenia (Charles) Robinson.
She is survived by her sons, James (Mary) Grice, Bernard Floyd Jr., and Kenneth (Jennie) Floyd; daughters, Jacqueline Floyd, and Alice (Bruce) Brown; sister, Rae Helen Gaines; brother, Rev. Dr. Jesse (Joyce) Grice; grandchildren, Jeremy (Allegra) Grice, Janille Grice, Andrae’ Brown, Mayisha Brown, Marvis Floyd, and Daniel James “DJ” Williams and great grandchildren, Jamar, Keni, Langston Sebastien, Dior, Austin, Mekhi, Blake, and Payton. She also leaves fond memories to many devoted loving and kind nieces, nephews, other relatives, a very devoted community, and friends. Mamie had many special people/friends in her lifetime, but a few special one stood out, Juanita Cox, Helen Brown, Dorothy “Dot” Harrison, and the McCants Family.
