Ms. Alma Watts Miles
Alma Watts Miles was born March 13, 1932 in Conecuh County to the late Maude Ingram and Avant Watts.
She and her one brother Eddie grew up and attended Elementary and High School in Evergreen, Alabama. She graduated from Conecuh County Training School in 1951. She furthered her education at Alabama State, receiving a B.S. and Masters in Education.
She taught with Conecuh County School for 33 years, retiring in 1993. She was an affiliate member of the Les Commrad Club.
She married the late Thomas Miles. To this union three children were born, the late Janeila A. Scott, the late Kenneth Earl Miles, and Thomas Edward (Reta) Miles. She was preceded in death by her one brother, Eddie Lee Rodgers, prior to her death on February 23, 2017.
She accepted Christ at an early age. She was a faithful member of Jerusalem #2 Baptist Church where she was the Church Secretary and Clerk. She was the Adult Sunday School Teacher and Bible Study Teacher.
She leaves her legacy with her son, Thomas Edward (Reta) Miles; her granddaughter, Rosalyn (Anthony) Moore; grandchildren: Teri (Dr. Fulton) DeFore, Nathaniel (Ariel) Scott, Abdul (Angie) Rogers, Maria (Bernard) Vander, LaJoyce Miles, Prince Kenyan (Lisa) Miles, Latoya (Alexison) McKimey; two sisters-in-law: Barbara Rodgers, Emily Proyer; five nieces: Linda and Debra Proyer, Traci (Kernie) McNeil, Wanda Rodgers, Helen Denise Moran; two nephews: Franz Rodgers and Hamil Harris; a host of great-grandchildren, cousins and friends.
A Special Tribute to Barbara Stanton, Essie George, Bobbie George, Sandra Miles, for the special care given to our Moma, Grandmother, and Aunt during her time of illness. Thank you to everyone who came and spent time, bought food, or just a phone call during our time of sorrow.
