Ms. Cheryl Bradley Jones
Cheryl Bradley Jones was born December 23, 1954 to the late Clarence and Lizzie K. Bradley in Chicago, Illinois. She was affectionately known as “Tinka”.
Tinka accepted Christ at an early age and joined Christ Universal Temple in Chicago, Illinois. She was educated in the Chicago school system and graduated from Englewood High School in Chicago. She continued her education at South Suburban College.
On August 4, 1978, she was joined in Holy Matrimony to Horace Jones. To this union one child was born; Holliss Jones.
While in Chicago, Tinka was employed with Zenith Radio and TV. Upon moving to Brewton, Alabama, she worked gainfully for the City of Brewton where many knew and trusted her as a School Crossing Guard. She worked with the City of Brewton for nearly 30 years. She also worked for Community Action.
Tinka was best known by her cheerful smile. She always spoke with a smile in her voice. She loved to see others excel and succeed and she always looked for the best in everyone. She loved her family passionately and was a people-lover at heart.
Tinka’s beautiful spirit passed shortly after 2:00 a.m. February 2, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Lizzie K. Bradley; her sister, Lynda Cheatham; a sister-in-law, Elmira Brown and a brother-in-law, Hurdo Jones.
Her memories will be cherished by her husband of 35 years, Horace Jones of Brewton, AL; one daughter, Holliss Jones Biggs (Eric) of Brewton, AL; three step-sons, Carlos Smith, Johnathan Smith (Dana) and Marcus Smith; seven grandchildren, Kieon, TaNiya, KeyShawn, Keasia, Jamari, Jaylan and Damarcus; one brother, Johnny Simmons of Buffalo, NY; sisters-in-law, Brenda Howard, Synethia Riley and Margaret Cunningham, all of Pensacola, FL; brothers-in-law, Eddie Jones and Guy Jones, both of Brewton, AL; an uncle, James Bradley of Pensacola, FL; an aunt, Lucille Simmons of Brewton, AL; two special cousins whom she grew up with, Larry Simmons and Donald Simmons; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She will be greatly missed by many!
