Ms. Debra E. Mims
Debra Ely Mims was born January 12, 1961 in Gosport, Alabama, to the union of Mrs. Mae Nolia Pendelton Ely and the late Sullie Ely, Sr. Debra was called Home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at the Evergreen Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her sister, Yvonne Ely Stallworth.
At any early age, she accepted Christ as her Savior and joined the Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church. After the union with her husband, Leodus, she joined the Pleasant Grove A.M.E. Zion Church, thereafter, she was saved.
She retired from the United States Military after serving her country for twenty-one years.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a devoted husband of thirteen years, Leodus Mims, Sr. of Evergreen, Alabama; two daughters: Shawntae (Brandon) Yelder of Leroy, Alabama and LaShonda Raine of Mobile, Alabama; three stepsons: Leodus Mims, Jr. of Birmingham, Alabama, Karish Jones of Repton, Alabama, and Cordarius Mims of Evergreen, Alabama; four grandsons: JaCorey Raine, Brandon Yelder, Franklin Yelder, and Caleb Yelder; two god-daughters: Jacqueseya White and Braelyn J. Bonam; three sisters: Ava Nell Pugh of Whatley, Alabama, Jackie White of Thomasville, Alabama, and Kimberly Ely of Gosport, Alabama; two brothers: Sullie (Lucille) Ely, Jr. of Gosport, Alabama, and twin brother, Shedrick (Lula Bell) Ely of Gosport, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
