Ms. Earlene Likely
Earlene, the fourth child of 13 born to Cleve and Annie Samuel, was born on March 14, 1931 in Conecuh County, Alabama. Her sweet spirit went back to God who made her on March 6, 2019, and now she is resting at last with Jesus.
She confessed hope in Christ at an early age, was baptized and worked faithfully here at Sandy Grove as a Missionary, Deaconess and Senior Choir Member. She received her education at Sandy Grove School and Hanks Weather School. Earlene worked many years at Alatex in Andalusia before their closing.
She met and married the late Wilson Likely on January 20, 1950. To this union eight children were born; six boys and two girls. Four preceded her in death, Wilson Jr., Willie Lewis, Jonathan, and Horace Likely.
She loved her family, especially her grandkids; there was nothing she wouldn’t do for them. She loved to cook for them and was well known for her chocolate cakes and sweet potato pies.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories her adored children, Lavon Likely of Evergreen, AL, Brenda (Gary) James of Mobile, AL; Bernita (Bob) Elliott of Brewton, AL and Donald (Mary) Likely of Evergreen, AL; daughters-in-law, Connie Likely of Evergreen, AL and Lynn Likely of Brewton, AL; 22 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; sisters, Addie Benjamin, Eunice Williams, Cleo Williams, all of Evergreen, AL and Nora Carr of Omaha, NB; brother-in-law, Willie Williams of Cincinnati, OH and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, countless friends, one special, Celia Middleton.
