Ms. Ethel Jean Rice
Ethel Jean Nicholson Rice was born the fourth child to the late Bishop and Eula Mae Nicholson on October 21, 1946. “Jean” joined Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church at an early age where she was a faithful member until death. She graduated high school from CCTS and later obtained a degree in Cosmetology from Ed Reid Technical College in 1984. She was also a dynamic seamstress.
She met and married James Russell Rice on March 10, 1974.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Bishop and Eula Mae Nicholson; one brother, Eddie Lee Nicholson and one sister, Dorothy Ann Nicholson Evans.
She leaves to cherish her memories a loving husband, James Russell Rice; two devoted daughters, Tanya Michelle Nicely of Selma, AL and Ericka Dionne Nicholson of Evergreen; four special grandchildren, Kiara McGinnis of Mobile, AL, Jarrod Nicholson of Nichburg, AL, Kendall Nicely of Selma, AL and Tory Nicholson of Nichburg, AL; two loving sisters, Annie Mae (Willie James) Bradley and Barbara Nicholson (Gene) Williams, both of Nichburg, AL; one brother, James (Jerry) Torrey of Gautier, MS; two brothers-in-law, Floyd Rice of Denver, CO and Garland (Rosemary) of Augusta, GA; three sisters-in-law, Joyce Rice, Opelia Rich Torrance and Genevie Rice Willis; nine aunts; one uncle; one great aunt, Mrs. Cleo Simpson of Nichburg, AL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
