Ms. Ina R. Brundidge Allen Williams
Her love story began in Evergreen, Alabama, on April 18, 1936, the 4th of five born to the union of her loving parents, the late Lester and Ruth Brundidge of Evergreen, Alabama. Filled with youthful curiosity and exceptionalities, she excelled in many area and was blessed to live a life framed by her many loves.
Her love for the Lord – Embracing the Baptist faith as a faithful member of Second Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she served as President of the Trustee Board, and Founder of the Second Mt. Zion Annual Hat Show, and The Black History Program.
She loved her husband who preceded her in death – Mr. Johnny Allen, Sr.
She loved her children – Cynthia Denise Allen Tucker, Montgomery, Alabama; Deirdre Allen Drake and Johnny Dee Allen, Jr., Columbus, Georgia.
She loved Education – She graduated from the Conecuh County Training School (1952) and Alabama State University with a B.S. degree in Physical Education. She was an educator for 44 years until her retirement from Hillcrest High School in Evergreen, Alabama.
She loved her grandchildren – Christopher Ewun Drake, Columbus, Georgia; Andrea Denise Tucker Reed (James), Atlanta, Georgia; and DeAndre Maurice Tucker, Montgomery, Alabama.
She loved her siblings – Arie Lee Kyser and Rubye Evelyn Herbert, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Annis T. Stallworth, Lester Brundidge, Jr., who preceded her in death.
She loved her nieces and nephews – Stanley Stallworth, Chicago, Illinois / Evergreen, Alabama; Joyce Stallworth, Tuscaloosa, Alabama; Vincent Brundidge, Detroit, Michigan; Avalyn Ranson, Atlanta, Georgia; Patricia Ann Richardson, Lamon Kyser, Lester Kyser, and Kelvin Kyser (Lisa), all of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Carolyn Arrington (Michael), Upper Marlboro, Maryland; Christine Hall, Virginia Beach, Virginia; and Wilbur R. Herbert (Evelyn), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
She loved people – A true and loyal friend to many who knew her well, as well as those she met throughout her professional career; true and dear friends: Ms. Mary Gee and Ms. Linda Lampley.
She loved Avon – She was the local Avon Lady representative.
She loved fashion – She was meticulously dressed for church whereby she took pride in presenting her personal best.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her loved ones, daughters, Cynthia Tucker and Deirdre Drake; a son, Johnny Allen, Jr.; three grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
To our many friends and family, we would like to thank you for your comforting messages, floral tributes, and other expressions of kindness shown to us during the courageous fight Mother made and during this time of bereavement.
