Ms. Marion Lee Bo'nam
February 23, 1957 - April 13, 2013
Mrs. Marion Joyce Lee Bo’nam was affectionately called, “Marion, Joyce, Ms. Lee or Mrs. Bo’nam” by family, friends, students and co-workers, but, to her son Fredrick, she was always first “Mama”.
Marion was the youngest of three daughters born to Mr. Willie C. and Mrs. Virginia Rae Lee. She was born on February 23, 1957 in Evergreen, Alabama. God’s pronouncement came on April 13, 2013 at Providence Hospital in Mobile, Alabama, following a lengthy illness.
Marion lived a full and productive life. She was a faithful and active member of First Baptist Church throughout her life. She attended Sunday school and was a member of the Junior Choir in her youth. As an adult she worked with the Matrons, served as Chairperson and committee member on various church programs, such as Vacation Bible School, Honor’s Day Program and in any capacity where she could join in the Lord’s Program. She was usually in her pew on the left side on Sunday mornings.
She supported her son diligently as a student, band member and faithful musician as he grew up in First Baptist. In her professional life, she was a graduate of Evergreen High School and Alabama State University. She continued her love for her schools throughout her life. As a pre-kindergarten and kindergarten teacher, she loved her students and taught them from the school books as well as how to treat their fellowman. Her career spanned thirty-one years. She was a devoted Alabama State fan.
To cherish her memories and legacy of love she left are her son, Fredrick Juwan (Toya) Bo’nam; an expected granddaughter, Braelyn Javon; a devoted sister, caregiver and surrogate mother, Alice Lee Dean; sister, Carolyn (Clayton) Stallworth; nephews, Clayton Jr. and William Rodney Stallworth; a devoted and best friend, Daisy Mae Dukes and many cousins, friends and First Baptist Church Family.
Fredrick, Toya, Alice and the entire Lee-Dean-Bo’nam Family sincerely appreciate your kind expressions of sympathy during our time of sorrow. We pray that God will shower you with his blessings and continue to keep us in your prayers.
We thank you.
