Ms. Mary S. Culliver
Mary Sue Jackson Culliver was born to the union of the late Minnie and Jessie Jackson on April 2, 1928. She departed the bounds of this Earth peacefully unto the arms of the Lord on Friday, February 15, 2019.
Mother Culliver accepted Christ as her savior at a very early age in life and continued her love for the Lord throughout her 90 years of life. She was an ardent member of Greater Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years.
She was a long time loyal member of Jackson Chapter #630 of the Order of Eastern Star.
She worked for many years and retired from D.W. McMillian Memorial Hospital in Brewton, AL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Hoover Culliver Sr. as well as four (4) brothers, John D. Jackson, Willie D. Jackson, William H. Jackson, James Jackson; and four (4) sisters, Maggie Jackson, Daisy Jackson, Virginia Culliver and Minnie Mae Culliver. She leaves one (1) brother to cherish her memory, Henry M. Jackson (Amanda).
She was also preceded in death by one son, Leonard Culliver in 2014. She leaves to cherish her memory eight (8) sons, Willie Culliver, Casey Culliver, both of New Orleans, LA, Hoover Culliver Jr. of Detroit, MI, Billy Jackson (Tracye) of Columbia, SC, Carl Culliver (Jean) of McComb, MS, Ray Charles Culliver (Mary Ann) of Omaha, NE, Jeffery Culliver os Savannah, GA and Roosevelt Culliver of Brewton, AL; two daughters, Ellen Nathan (Robert) and Sandra Allbritton (John L.), both of Pensacola, FL and one daughter-in-law, Minnie Culliver (Leonard) of Daleville, AL. Additionally she leaves a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as other relatives and close friends.
We the family of Mary Sue Culliver wishes to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone for the kindness shown during our loss. We offer a special thanks to the Doctors and Home Health providers who help make the final days of our love one comfortable. Our deep love and thanks to the Ministers and entire family of Greater Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
