Ms. Rosa Mae Williams
Rosa Mae Samuel Williams was the oldest of 11 children born to the late Henderson and Nettie Samuel on May 31, 1931 in Evergreen, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Williams Sr. and three children, Bernard Williams Jr., Billy Carl Williams and Henry Earl Williams; two grandsons, Michael Williams and Rodney Jermaine Daniels; four brothers, Washington Samuel, Eddie Henderson Samuel, Walter Lee Samuel and Herbert James Samuel; a sister, Betty Jean Riley and a son-in-law, Henry Lee Walton.
Rosa, affectionately known as “Sissie”, accepted Christ and united with the Sandy Grove Baptist Church. Upon locating to Brewton, Alabama she united with the First Saint Siloam Missionary Baptist Church where she was active on the Usher Board until her health began to fail.
Sissie had a true devoted love for her family and friends. She loved to quilt, fish, talk on the phone, make pear preserves and preparing fresh peas.
God called Rosa Mae Home on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Crowne Health Care in Greenville, AL.
She leaves to cherish her memories three daughters, Thelma Walton of Castleberry, AL, Evelyn Daniels and Carolyn Williams, both of Brewton, AL; one son, Randy Williams of Brewton, AL; five sisters, Josephine Ausby, Elnora Williams, both of Miami, FL, Luecinda Pitts of Jamaica, NY, Nettie Williams of Yonkers, NY and Emma Rae (Willie) Locke Jr. of Andalusia, AL; two sisters-in-law, Mary Samuel of Detroit, MI and Carlene Samuel of Miami, FL; one brother-in-law, Wilson Riley of Detroit, MI; grandchildren, Alexis (Mario) McCreary, Marilyn (James) North, LaShaun Walton (Ricky) Watson, Dempsey (Tonya) Williams, Tlarance Williams, Ericka Daniels, Timothy Walton, Darryl Williams, Khadjah Barton, Lillie Ann Williams, Reontae Powell, Demerius Rankins, Brandy Ruthledge, Randy Ruthledge and Anthony Williams; twenty-six great grandchildren; sixteen great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, other relatives and friends.
