Ms. Rosie Lampley
Flowers bloom and flowers blossom then they wither and fade away, but never to be forgotten is the life of our beloved mother Rosie Lee Taylor Johnson Lampley, bloomed from the seed planted and germinated by the late Henry and Mamie Bonner Taylor on September 18, 1920 in Buhl, Alabama (Tuscaloosa County). Mother was born the second and eldest daughter to this union. On Tuesday, December 18, 2012 she answered the Master’s call at the home of her daughter and caregiver, Carol Denise Landers and future son-in-law, Jeffery Williams.
Mrs. Rosie was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Leonard Lampley in February, 1948 in Key West, Florida. They later relocated to the Owassa community where she remained until her demise.
She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and united with 2nd Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend Alexander Johnson Sr. where she served as secretary of the Missionary Department, member of the Senior Choir, Usher Board and a member of the Order of Eastern Star Davis Pride Chapter 601 under the leadership of Amelia Oliver and Jerome Boykins.
Rosie L. Lampley, “Shag” was a kindhearted, soft spoken, loving person that loved her children and others, yet did not mind cooking and feeding family, friends, neighbors and strangers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Lampley; parents, Mamie and Henry Taylor; sister, Estella Ruth Osborne; brother, Ardean Taylor; grandson, Gregory Allen Lampley Jr. and son-in-law, Robert L. Landers.
