My condolences to the family. May the Bible comfort you with the thought that soon "death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore." - Revelation 21:3, 4. Not only that but it promise that thru Jesus Christ, "all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out." - John 5:28, 29. Yes we have the hope of seeing our dead loved ones again when Jesus resurrects them, but this time under righteous conditions.
