Ms. Shirley J. King
Mary Shirley Jean King, aged 81 died peacefully on April 8th, 2015 at her Florida Home after a long battle with Breast Cancer and multiple health challenges.
Born June 1, 1933 to William & Myrtle Lawyer in Troy New York, she lived her early adult years in upstate New York. Shirley pursued a career in education and worked as a school teacher, insurance agent, business owner, and full time mother and homemaker. She is survived by her six children Larry Jimpson, Martin Jimpson, Garry King, Andrea Paris, Linell King, Chloe Jimpson, multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren. Shirley had three brothers and two sisters, Billy, Richard, Jackie, John, and Sandra. She is survived by her two living siblings, Johnny and Sandra.
In addition to her six kids, Shirley had many others that she welcomed into her home and cared for as if they were her own – both children and adults alike. This is the reason she is affectionately known to the world as “Mom”.
After living life to its fullest, she decided that it was time to stop dialysis and all the hospitalizations. Similar to her late husband Richard, she passed away on her own terms at home surrounded by close friends and family.
The family wishes to thank family and friends and each individual for their act of kindness and thoughtfulness during this time of bereavement. Your visits, cards, flowers, food and sincere words and expressions of sympathy and condolences have helped during this time of great loss.
