Ms. Willie Mae Brooks
Willie Mae Celestine Brooks was born on June 13, 1936 in Conecuh County Alabama to the late Mrs. Nora Mae Brooks and the late J. Jones. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Maxine Williams, Mary Williams, and Mildred Payne Ewing. She was also preceded in death by her late husband, Raymond Brooks.
She gave her life to Christ at an early age and was a faithful choir member at her home church.
Willie Mae and Charles Celestine Sr. had James “Jimmy” Celestine on July 3, 1956 and he died on October 16, 1976.
Willie Mae was a lover of flowers. She lived a full and happy life and enjoyed doing everything she wanted to do until her health began to fail her. She knew her health was beginning to fail so she sought out her nephew, the late Reverend Johnny F. Atkins, who became her primary caregiver. At the first signs of his health beginning to fail, he gave the charge of being caregiver to his wife, Sherry Atkins. He told her if anything happened to him to make sure his aunt was taken care of. She had a faithful live-in caregiver in her last years on earth, Kathy L. Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Charles Celestine Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends who ALL loved her dearly.
