Pastor Martha A. Bonam
Martha Ann Lane Bonam was born to the late Herbert Lane and the late Sadie Biggs on September 1, 1949 in Brewton, Alabama.
On August 6, 2020 the beautiful soul of Pastor Martha Ann Lane Bonam answered Christ’s call and surrendered her earthly body to be present with the Lord. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Melva Rae Crook and Cynthia Crook, and one grandson, GeTyron “Gus” L. Benjamin.
At the age of 12 she accepted Christ while attending Second St. Siloam Missionary Baptist Church. Later in life she became a Missionary for Christ; started the Prayer House Ministry. Later on God led her to open up the church to begin Pathway to Life in Christ Ministries.
She graduated from Booker T. Washington School in Brewton, Alabama. Earlier in life she worked with the City of Brewton Board of Education as a cook in the lunchroom.
She leaves cherish memories with her husband, Fred Bonam; two devoted and loving daughters, Tracie (Kenneth) Newton and Annalese (Derrick) Hodges, both of Brewton, AL; four step-children; seven grandchildren, Derek Lane of Pensacola, FL, Howard Lane of Brewton, AL, Fransheska Lane of Union City, TN, Rashad Crook, Derrick Hodges, Helen Hodges and Carler Hodges, all of Brewton, AL; three great grandchildren, Edward Stewart IV of Union City, TN, Raden Crook of Flomaton and Rylee Crook of Brewton, AL; one brother, Herbert Larry (Sheila) Lane of Soso, MS; one sister, Ruby Jewel Mosley, of Brewton, AL; one sister-in-law; two aunts, Maggie McMillian of Brewton, AL and Genevia Reynolds of Pensacola, FL; one god-daughter; two dear special friends, Margaret Herbert and Assistant Pastor Kenneth Watson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
We, the family of Martha Ann Lane Bonam, extend our heartfelt appreciation for ALL acts of kindness, sympathy and love shown to us during the brief illness and passing of our dear loved one. May God continue to bless and keep you is our prayer.
