Mr. John C. Woodcock
John Christopher Woodcock, a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and son, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2026, in Brewton, Alabama. Known for his unwavering integrity, John was a man who truly stood on his word—a reliable, honest, and genuinely great person who left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
For many years, John dedicated himself to his profession as a skilled painter. He took great pride in his craft, bringing color and life into the world through his hard work and dedication. Beyond his professional life, John’s truest passion and greatest joy came from his family. He deeply loved his daughters and cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Darlene Hawkins Woodcock, who passed away on March 9, 2023; his father, Thomas Woodcock; and his two brothers. He is now peacefully reunited with them.
John’s legacy of love, strength, and honesty lives on through his surviving family. He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Breanna (David) Hattamer and Marsha Hawkins, as well as Brittany Dasinger, whom he loved and considered his own daughter.
He is also survived by his four cherished grandchildren, Delainey Hattamer, Tres Shirley, Madison Shirley, and Kade Shirley; and his great-grandson, William Rex Shirley. He leaves behind his mother Judith Wilson, his stepmother Kay Woodcock, his brother David Woodcock, and his sister Kristal Grace, and his best friend Karl, along with many dear friends and relatives in the Brewton community.
In accordance with his wishes, John will be cremated. A memorial gathering to celebrate his life will be held at a later time.
